So here I am at 11 weeks, and I can't feel a thing. I thought when you found out you were pregnant you magically 'knew' what was happening in your body and could feel all sorts of changes happening within yourself. Not true....I haven't felt as much as a flutter in my belly (which my books tell me was gas) and probably won't until closer to about 16 to 20 weeks. I'm so EXCITED to feel something in there I can hardly stand it! Enough of feeling overweight, bloated, and tired, let's get this thing going! This has been the longest 11 weeks ever! (sense my patient tone...)

We have our next Dr's appointment on the 23rd and will meet with the Doc to check in and make sure everything's going as it's supposed to be. We will be finding out the sex of the baby on February 3rd, so mark your calendars for that date, because we'll be shouting it from the rooftops once we find out! (and posting it on here).

More to come next week -

Our First Dr.'s Appointment

Dave and I went to our first Dr.'s appointment yesterday for the baby. We met with a nurse practioner that was so incredibly nice, it completely put us at ease. She's about our age and we were able to talk her into taking a quick snapshot of the baby!

We were right on with our due date of July 4, 2009, so that was cool that we guestimated correctly (actually Kristy and her handy book did, thank you Kristy!).

Just as I suspected the Dr. said all of the things I can't eat....lunch meat, limited fish intake, and all sorts of other stuff. The lunch meat is going to be hard to do...who doesn't like a Subway sub occasionally? She also went over all sorts of tests we can opt to have done to ensure the baby's health. We're still fairly young, so we are at low risk so I believe we will forgo most testing that is optional.

Sunday, December 7th I get to walk the commencement line at the U of M with 'Baby K' in tow...it'll be fun when he or she gets older to tell them they 'walked the line' with me when I graduated from college!

More information to come soon, our next appointment is on December 23rd, where we meet with our Dr. and get another check up. Then towards the end of January at our appointment where I will be around 20 weeks, we will be able to tell the sex of the baby (and hopefully get a good picture to post on here!)

Dave & Danielle's new Parenting Adventure

Well the news is out, the newlywed Kavanaugh's are having a baby. It's amazing that we waited a full year of marriage before we got pregnant seeing as I was over the top baby-crazy when we got married!

We are incredibly excited about what is all to come with our new baby. We have started reading up on what to do...what not to do...what everyone believes is right and wrong. It can be overwhelming, but we're soaking up as much information as we possibly can about pregnancy, childbirth, all of it. Through our adventure to becoming parents, we wanted to share our little 'milestones' with everyone and blogging was the best way we could think of to do so.

Feel free to visit this page as often as you want to get the update on how Momma Dani and Poppa Dave are doing and what we're experiencing throughout this so very exciting time in our lives!

Love,
Dave & Danielle' Kavanaugh
