Como Zoo Day!

We went to Como Zoo yesterday afternoon and it was the absolute perfect day to go. Apparently the rest of Minnesota thought so too, it was PACKED! But we had fun, Izzy clapped at the Osterich and waved at all the animals....and kids...and anything else she could wave at.
If there ever were to be a 'Mr. Miyagi' look alike contest for animals, this one would take the cake. 'Wax on, wax off.'
The Polar Bear Odessey was by far the biggest attraction at the zoo. There were two big ole bears and they actually got into a little power match while we were there watching. It was super cool...Izzy didn't much care for it though, she got extra clingy when that happened.
This is Iz watching the bear (pictured above). No, she's not picking her nose. This was the look on her face the whole time, she took everything in that she could and was just amazed at all there was to see. I'm not sure she even blinked the entire time we were there.
Last but not least, a quick video of Izzy standing on her own, or our attempt at helping her. She was doing it when Dave would prop her up, but this is the 5th or 6th time of trying to stand her up on her own and she was running low on steam.

Izzy has first ice cream cone at Izzy's Ice Cream Cafe

Our Izzy-B is on the 'Wall of Famous Izzy's' at Izzy's Ice Cream Cafe off of Marshall Avenue in St. Paul. (http://www.izzysicecream.com/) She had her very first ice cream cone yesterday afternoon at Izzy's and L-O-V-E-D it. Ice cream is free if your name is Izzy. :)
The staff member putting up her cute little smiley picture on the Wall of Fame.
And now to the good part...she's so delicate with how she handles things, it's so funny. She was so intense about eating the ice cream too, she has the furrowed brow and everything. She'd take a break with an 'ice cream mustache' and wave to the boys sitting at the table next to us! (lil flirt)
Now we're getting a hand on the top of the cone to make sure she can shove more in her mouth!
Here, let me put my hand on the ice cream just to make sure it doesn't fall over.

Two hands on the ice cream now, gotta make sure it doesn't fall over!
We'll definitely be visitors of Izzy's this summer, can't wait to go back! Both of our dresses we were wearing yesterday were sticky from ice cream, it was a blast!
Happy 4th to Everyone - have a safe and fun holiday.

Happy 1st Birthday Isabella Mae!

Our happy, smiley little girl is 1 year old already...where this year went, we have no idea. Half the time we were so sleep deprived, and the other half, way too busy having fun with little Izzy-B. We love her so much and she had such an awesome time at her birthday party, we are so VERY thankful to have her in our lives!
Izzy loves her Daddy sooooo much! They have the same shaped melon - that's what the Dr. said yesterday at her 1 year check-up. :) She's in the 64th percentile for height (at 29.5 inches), 86th percentile for head circumfrance (yep, the big noggin), and 46th percentile for weight (weighing in at 20 pounds, 8 ounces). Wooo-whooo you grow Izzy!
Izzy really took a liking to Adam over the weekend - she would crawl to him and lift her arms up...she likes boys more than girls at this point. She saw Mommy in this picture and decided she'd had enough of Uncle Adam.
Onto the cake for her party - she was dainty and didn't tare right into her cupcake. She checked it out, tried the frosting, then decided her milk was better.
First taste of frosting ever! (that we know of...)

Taaaa-daaaa! This was her cake - we got the cupcakes from http://www.cup-cake.com/ - they have AMAZING cupcakes. We got the Paris Hilton, 'That's Hot' cupcakes and the 'trademark' orange and blue cupcakes that had chocolate mousse on the inside of them...they were a hit!
Here is Izzy greeting people at the entry way of Kavanaugh's (http://www.kavanaughs.com/) conference center. It rained up until the start of her party, so Kavanaugh's was gracious enough to let us borrow their facilities for the event. It actually worked out better having the party inside because so many people showed up! Lucy gave her this water table and she LOVED it!
Cousin Jeff and Izzy doing 'snooty face'...she does it on command now!
Uncle Tony and Auntie Jody feeding Iz ice cubes!
Check out my new mouse guys!
The peanutbutter opened birthday presents like a champ, tore right into them, was fun to watch! Her nickname at Daycare is 'Busy Izzy'.
Hey Ma, look at all the sand I just shoved in my mouth, yummmy! Rocks are crunchy!
Here is the infamous snooty face sitting on the steps by the lake...she is such a character, we love it!
Thanks to everyone that came to the peanutbutter's birthday party, we all had a great time! More memories to be made and posted on here soon! Summer is off to a great start for the Kavanaugh Fam!

FUN Memorial Day Weekend

We had a WONDERFUL time up north this past weekend at Kavanaugh's (http://www.kavanaughs.com/). From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU Kavanaugh's, for letting us enjoy such a gorgeous resort with Izzy. She was in her glory on the swings and splashing around in the pool (as you can see below). We made many memories and had so much fun!
Izzy's trying on Auntie Meghan's chicky sunglasses - fweee-fweeeew!

Flashin' a few grins on the swings. I think smiling is her favorite thing to do.

Yep...just can't help it, any sort of glasses on her head just crack me up! We were shopping for her birthday supplies for this pic.
Izzy turns 1 year old this Saturday...we can't believe it's been a whole year already. We have never had more fun than with this little miracle in our lives. She is the most incredible little girl and we love her so very much. Birthday pictures will be posted next week of our toddler!
(OMG - can't believe she's not a baby anymore, sniffle sniffle).
