Diets or "Food Plans" and pregnancy don't mix...

This has been a trying week of dodging carbs and making sure my blood sugar levels stay within the range needed to keep Izzy and I healthy during this pregnancy. I have been starving all week. My favorite food / meal in the whole world is breakfast cereal. Who doesn't love captain crunch berries or honeycomb? Reeses Puffs? BRING IT! But those things are so chuck full of sugar, I can't even have a 1/3 cup with some milk for breakfast or my levels will go through the roof.
On the flip side, they say movement after eating, walking, the Wii, or any kind of 'not sitting around' helps your body to start processing things quicker and gets things going for your levels to stay where they need to be. So this week, Dave and I have golfed after dinner, walked most everyday after our meals, or played Wii fit. We've stayed busy! And thank goodness I have the energy to do all of this right now, or I would be dragging!
I have a follow up appointment with the dietition and diabetic nurse tomorrow for two hours in the morning. They'll go over my food journal from this past week, how my levels have been, and decide if my body needs medication to keep my levels in check or if I can continue on carb counting and doing plenty of exercise.
Izzy's been kicking away and doing somersaults in my belly all week though, it's comforting everytime I feel a little jab or jolt in my belly. We will officially be entering the 3rd trimester as of this Saturday! YEEEEAAAAH!
